Susan’s Journey
The skills I have today are a reflection of the journey of healing my life has taken

3 DECADES OF HEALING
My work is a synthesis of 3 + decades devoted to working with people of all ages and broadly expanding my skills. I now work as both an acupressure and a laser therapist, as well as an infant massage instructor.
It Started In Schools
My first focus was teaching young children, as a child developmentalist with a Masters degree in education. For 7 years, I worked with children as young as 9 months and as old as 5 years, progressing to head teacher and program director. Then I moved into children’s mental health, getting a Masters of Mental Health from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and working as a child, adolescent and adult psychotherapist for 20 years. During those years I achieved considerable recognition in my field, serving as president of my professional association and liaison to the state legislature, helping to craft legislation to regulate professional counselors in Maryland.
Healing Bodies
Since 2000, I have turned my attention to the field of bodywork and healing. In 2010, I became a Certified Acupressure Therapist after advanced training in acupressure and energy medicine. While I enjoy using acupressure to facilitate physical healing, I specialize in Acupressure for Emotional Healing, drawing upon my mental health background. In 2016, fascinated by the healing power of light, I became a Certified Professional Laser Therapist trained in the use of the revolutionary Bioflex laser. Along the way, I’ve studied numerous healing modalities in my quest to address body/mind/spirit ailments.
Epilogue
My longstanding commitment to children likewise expanded to new horizons a I moved into the realm of physical healing. I also hold certifications as an Infant Massage Instructor as well as a Massage in Schools Instructor.
Throughout these many career twists and turns, constants have remained. I am and always have been about healing. I have always been a vibrant teacher (others say “gifted”) who revels in sharing my many passions with others. And I remain committed to life long learning as I deepen my understanding of the science — and magic — of acupressure, energy medicine and the healing power of light. The blend of these modalities and client groups brings me great joy. In my spare time, I sing with the Berkeley Broadway Singers and serve on the board of the Women’s Therapy Center, in Berkeley. I live and work in Kensington, happily married to the man I met at age 14.
The spiritual path is simply the journey of living our lives. Everyone is on a spiritual path, most people just don’t know it.
